A fishing trip works better when everyone has a reason to look forward to the day. PTO designs programs for anglers and non-anglers, allowing couples, families and friends to share the lodge and Patagonia while enjoying different activities.
What companions can do
Depending on the season, location and interests, options may include scenic walks, horseback riding, mountain biking, rafting, lake kayaking, birdwatching, cultural visits, photography, local gastronomy, La Trochita, tulip fields and excursions connected with Los Alerces National Park.
Together and apart
Some guests prefer separate activities during fishing hours and shared evenings at the lodge. Others combine a few guided fishing days with joint excursions. The best program starts with an honest conversation about pace, mobility, interests and how much time the party wants to spend together.
Why the fishing areas matter
- Trevelin and Esquel: useful for culture, gastronomy, mountain landscapes and access to Los Alerces.
- Río Pico: a remote atmosphere and a strong nature focus.
- Cholila: lakes, valleys and the northern gateway to Los Alerces.
Questions to ask before booking
- Which activities are genuinely available for the chosen dates?
- Will companions need a private guide or vehicle?
- Can weather changes be accommodated?
- Are there dietary, mobility or comfort considerations?
- Which days should the whole party share?
Activities are confirmed according to season, weather and local availability. PTO builds the final plan around the guests rather than offering a fixed checklist.
