JERÓNIMO CANTÓN

Jerónimo Canton is an experienced fishing guide in Patagonia who learned the intricacies of Patagonian fishing from his father, who was also a fishing guide. He began his career as a guide in 2002, working with various companies such as Raúl San Martín, Esquel Outfitters, and Estancia Tecka Lodge.

In 2001, Jerónimo’s family constructed Krüger Lake Lodge in Los Alerces National Park, providing him with the opportunity to take his initial steps into guiding alongside his father and Raúl San Martín, a respected guide in the area. Since then, he has worked with different fishing operations, including Esquel Outfitters and Tecka Lodge.

Apart from fishing, Jerónimo has a passion for skiing, whitewater kayaking, and rafting. He has organized river festivals in Patagonia, fostering a sense of community and celebrating the love for rivers, environmental stewardship, and tourism development in river towns.

In 2004, Jerónimo co-founded Adrenaline Frames, a company specializing in building and selling aluminum frames for fishing and rafting boats. The company has become a leader in its segment in Argentina, and Jerónimo manages it alongside his wife and partner, Natacha.

Jerónimo and Natacha have two daughters named Naomi and Zoe.

NICOLAS BOTTING

Nicolas, born and raised in Buenos Aires, he has always had a strong connection to the outdoors. From a young age, he spent time on his family’s ranch in La Pampa Province, horseback riding and exploring and later on in Esquel, where he would fish in the summers and ski in the winters. It was in the early 1990s that Nicolas discovered his passion for guiding as he worked at a Lodge in the Esquel area.

Nicolas and his wife, Cecilia, both shared a love for adventure and service. This led them to Chile and the Bahamas, where they gained valuable experienceco-managing top-tier fly fishing lodges (Bairs Lodge & Futa Lodge) for the company Nervous Waters.

After the birth of their children, they decided to settle in Buenos Aires.

Nicolas took on the role of Manager at Estancia Laguna Verde Lodge, situated by Strobel Lake, also known as Jurassic Lake.

In 2022 he joined Patagonia Trout Outfitters to bring all his experience and be able to return to his beloved Esquel area.

NATACHA PARAMOSZ

Natacha, originally from Buenos Aires, had a nomadic upbringing due to her father’s profession as a Park Ranger. Her family settled in Los Alerces National Park in 1999, and she completed her studies in Tourism Business Administration in Esquel, choosing to make it her permanent home.

Natacha is an active participant in outdoor activities and enjoys fishing, skiing, kayaking, and hiking with her daughters. With experience in the tourism field, she has worked in both the public and private sectors, including roles in a Travel and Tourism Agency and tourism consulting.

Currently, Natacha manages the Patagonia Trout office, where she likely specializes in providing services related to trout fishing in the region.

MARTÍN MAJUL

Born in Córdoba, a region famous for its technical streams full of rainbow trout, his passion for fishing was awakened from a very young age.

He began to get to know the rivers and lakes from Esquel to El Bolsón along with his uncle with whom he spent summers since he was 6 years old.

His passion grows and while studying agronomy at the University of Córdoba he works as a professional rigger for local flyshops.

He began guiding in the Trevelin area from 2005 to 2008, he returned to the north to dedicate himself to hunting pigeons in Córdoba and ducks in Santa Fe and in 2012 he permanently moved to Esquel where he worked as a guide for El Encuentro until 2019.

A fan of playing the guitar, he enjoys spending time with his little daughter Malena.

FERNANDO BONFANTI

Fernando, a native of Esquel, grew up immersed in the outdoors and developed a passion for it at a young age. In 1990, he began his career as a fishing guide for a local fishing operation and has been dedicated to guiding ever since.

In addition to his fishing expertise, Fernando also has extensive experience in the winter sports industry. He worked as a ski instructor for six years and served as a ski patrol for another 16 years. During the winters, he pursued his passion for flying and became a private pilot.

Fernando is known for his exceptional patience and skill as a guide, making him highly regarded in his field. He continues to share his love for the outdoors and provide memorable experiences for his clients to this day.

SEBASTIÁN FERRER

Sebastián is a “lifetime fisherman,” born in Viedma in northern Patagonia. He began fishing with his grandfather, Benito. In 1980 he and his family moved to Esquel where he began the art of trout fishing.

In 1995 he became a fly fishing guide’s assistant and when he finally became a guide himself he had more experience than most. Perhaps that’s why he’s been chosen to work in some of the best-known fishing lodges in Patagonia, including several years in Chile. He has been guiding for the Estancia Tecka Lodge over 17th seasons.

NICOLÁS ÁLVAREZ

Born and raised in the around the Tigre (delta of the Paraná River), Nicolás grew up rowing for the Argentine Rowing Club and fishing in the hundreds of branches of the river around his home.

At 18 years old, he moved to Esquel to study Forestry and to be closer to trout and rivers with whitewater. He became a rafting guide and then a fishing guide. For more than 10 years he worked for Las Pampas Lodge.

An excellent and skilled brewer, Nicolás has his own craft brewery in Trevelin.

He has two daughters.

LAURA CASHMORE

Laura was born into a horse training family in Hamilton, New Zealand, and her connection with horses began at a very young age. Growing up, her father participated in show jumping at the Olympics in 2004, while her mother trained polo ponies. Laura herself attended pony club throughout her life, further nurturing her passion for horses.

In 2010, Laura pursued a comprehensive two-year certificate program in advanced leadership and guiding. This program specialized in various outdoor activities such as white water kayaking, white water rafting, rock climbing, navigation, weather prediction, risk management, prehospital emergency care, tramping/trekking, mountaineering, and sea kayaking, among others. She then continued her career in the outdoor industry, obtaining a class 4/5 rafting certificate and teaching white water kayaking to local schools, as well as guiding mountain bike trips.

In 2011, Laura met her husband Imanol Garcia, who was born and raised in Esquel, Argentina, while both were working during the white water season in California. Over the next five years, they worked back-to-back summers in various locations around the world, including New Zealand, California, Spain, Austria, Switzerland, and Argentina, where they engaged in activities such as white water rafting, safety kayaking, and photography.

During the offseason in Argentina, Laura delved into horse training with a natural horsemanship approach, focusing on backing and training her own horses. Since 2017, she has been actively competing in show jumping and providing riding classes at a local pony club. She also became involved in the equestrian industry, training and selling horses.

Currently, Laura dedicates her time to training horses, working in the equestrian industry, and guiding. She is also a proud mother, raising her child named Iker.

CRISTINA BARTOLUCCI

Cristina, originally from Buenos Aires, developed a deep love for nature from a young age, particularly for bird watching. In 2000, she relocated to Esquel to pursue a degree in biology, specializing in carnivorous species.

During the summer seasons, Cristina volunteered at Los Alerces National Park and worked as a trekking guide at Los Glaciares National Park. Since 2018, she has been employed as a bird watching guide at Los Alerces National Park.

Cristina currently resides in Trevelin with her husband and daughter, who share her passion for the outdoors.
